ESAS International School on Applied Superconductivity

Achini Rathnathilaka and Adrián Gutiérrez-Cruz, participated at the ESAS International School of Applied Superconductivity organized by the European Society for Applied Superconductivity (ESAS) and the IEEE Council on Superconductivity.

The lectures were given by renowned experts from research institutes and universities, covering the fundamentals of superconductivity and its main applications. In the JOGATE context, topics such as superconducting materials and quantum technologies were particularly relevant, helping strengthen understanding of concepts such as the Josephson effect and Josephson junction devices. Networking was also a valuable part of the event, as several early-career researchers shared their work and offered a broader perspective on superconductivity applications.

We also had the opportunity to present JOGATE work during the poster session: “Solid Source Doping Method for Hybrid Josephson Devices” (Achini) and “Wet Etching of Superconducting Niobium and Titanium Nitride Thin Films”(Adrián), where we received useful questions and feedback.
